Rose Eileen Colombini of East Marion died on Oct. 17, 2016. She was 94 years old.
Colombini was born on May 27, 1922 in the Bronx to Thomas and Helen (Moore) Grimaldi.
She served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 and worked as a secretary for Bayport Blue Point School District. She was a member of St. Agnes Rosary Society and the Suffolk Seagulls and was a Cedarette. In her free time, she enjoyed golf and singing.
Predeceased by her husband, Renato, in 2002, she is survived by her sister, Constance La Rocco of Florida; children, Peter Colombini of Manorville, Maryanne Colombini of Manorville, Barbara Cavanaugh of Blue Point, Joanne Colombini of Sayville, Jane Hughes of Sayville and Ray Colombini of East Marion; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John’s Place in Mattituck.
