Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks, the legendary band that has been rocking and twanging across the East End for nearly 30 years, will perform this weekend at a Toys for Tots party at Billy’s by the Bay in Greenport.
This Sunday’s toy drive will be the fifth annual event hosted by Billy’s by the Bay owner Billy Gremler, and proceeds — last year there were over 200 toys collected — go to the Mattituck Lions Club and Cutchogue East Elementary School.
Gremler, a lifelong resident of the North Fork, is thrilled with the response the event has had in past years.
“It’s very successful. I put out a huge buffet and I have a great band. I have loyal goodhearted patrons who support me. I like to give back to the community. I’m a Mattituck born and raised guy and the community has helped me.”
Gremler requests that attendees bring a new unwrapped toy or gift for children in need and are welcome to enjoy a free appetizer buffet, a 50/50 raffle and the music of the wildly popular Lone Sharks band.
The party starts at noon on Sunday, December 4 and continues until 5 p.m.
Billy’s by the Bay is located at 2530 Manhasset Avenue, Greenport
