Although he normally travels by reindeer-driven sleigh,  Santa made a more dramatic entrance Saturday afternoon when he arrived via helicopter to the delight of dozens of children and their parents at the annual Christmas in Cutchogue event.

After enjoying a magic show at the Cutchogue firehouse, kids waited patiently on the fire department grounds for Santa to make his appearance.

After saying a quick hello to the excited children, Santa was escorted via firetruck to the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library for a meet-and-greet with his biggest fans.

Christmas in Cutchogue is sponsered by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce.
