Mattituck trounced Smithtown Christian yesterday 64-15.
It was an easy outing for the Tuckers (5-0 in League VII, 7-1 overall) as they controlled the tempo from the get-go, playing a lesser-skilled, but very energetic Smithtown Christian squad.
Smithtown Christian did what they could to try and keep up, with the defense blocking more than a handful of Tucker shots down low. In the end, it was no contest.
The big test for the Tuckers comes after the holiday break, when Mattituck meets its match in the Port Jefferson team (5-0 in League VII, 5-1 overall) on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Mattituck High School. Tip-off: 6:15 p.m.
