Greenport Village announced Friday that the Mitchell Park ice rink has officially opened. Since the rink is outdoors,  the weather directly affects the operation of the rink, and the recent cold temperatures have made conditions ideal for skating.

Greenport Village Hall confirmed the following hours of operation and other information:

Hours of operation are 3 – 5 p.m. when school is in session,  11 – 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays  and when school is not in session.  The rink is closed on Christmas.

Admission is $5 for adults on weekdays, $10 on weekends. Seniors and under 18 enter for $3/weekdays and $7/weekends.

Skate and training bar rentals are available ($5)

Private rink rentals for parties are $325 for two hours.

Skate School is $50 per four-week session.

Friday is family night from 5 to 9 p.m. (after open skating which is 3 -5 p.m.).

Season passes are $80 per adult, and $ 50 for youth and seniors.

Private lessons are $15 per half-hour session.

For more information see the Greenport Village website.
