Celebrating the meaning of the season: Love, light, hope and peace

File photo

The world we live in can often make it hard to be merry, especially at the holidays. It’s all too easy to allow fear and negativity to dwell in your heart, to lose sight of the best things in life:

the warm embrace of family…
deep, abiding friendships…
caring and generous neighbors…
the resilience of people, even in the grip of unspeakable tragedy…
what it means to have roots, a sense of place, in this roiling, ever-changing world…
the beauty and balance of nature…
and living in a place where we can experience and appreciate all these things every single day.

In this season, we reflect upon these blessings with gratitude. They fill us with joy and inspire in our hearts hope for the future.

Today, we hope the message of this season will be heard throughout the world:

Peace on Earth and good will to all!

We wish you and yours a peaceful, safe and happy holiday.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and thank you for your support and friendship throughout the year.

Best wishes,

Denise Civiletti and Peter Blasl, publishers

Happy Holidays!
