An SUV and a minivan collided at the intersection of Elijahs Lane and Rt. 48 at about 9:20 a.m., according to Mattituck Fire Department Chief James Rugnetta.
The Mattituck Fire Department Heavy Rescue was on the scene and one person was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Traffic was detoured around the accident in the eastbound lane of Rt. 48 and the scene was secured by the Southold Police Department and the Mattituck Fire Police.
Further details of the accident are unknown, according to Rugnetta.
