Southold Town police blotter: Jan. 23 – 29

On Jan. 24 a Southold man reported a possible fraud to police, stating that a Craig’s List transaction with a buyer included a check which was invalid. Police are investigating.

Greenport High School administrators reported to police on Jan. 27 that four triple-beam balance scales valued at $600 went missing overnight from a classroom at the school.

Police report that a tractor trailer at the McBride Farm in Cutchogue was spray painted with graffiti some time after the beginning of December 2016.

On Jan. 28, Joseph O’Brien of Greenport was pulled over on a traffic stop in Southold and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to headquarters for processing.

A Southold woman called police on Jan. 29 to report an attempted break-in at her home. Police responded and found nothing suspicious.
