Cops: Laurel man drove drunk, crashed into utility pole on Peconic Bay Blvd.

Southold Town Police charged a 51-year-old Laurel man with aggravated driving while intoxicated after a crash on Peconic Bay Boulevard in Laurel last night.

Police said Richard Bosworth was operating a 2016 Chevy pickup truck westbound on Peconic Bay Boulevard last night when he struck a utility pole at about 8:45 p.m.

Bosworth was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held for arraignment, according to the police report. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
