The Greenport High School drama club will present its spring musical March 3, 4, and 5. The show, characterized as ‘The Little Mermaid’ with a Greek myth ending, has a Caribbean flair and delivers a message on acceptance and tolerance.
The story is a Lawrence Olivier Award-winner from the songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. It tells the tale of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of a Caribbean island and the pompous gods who preside over the island who make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death.
Show dates are Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are on sale at Floyd Memorial Library and the HS office. They cost $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. They can be reserved by clicking here.
