Southold Town police blotter: Feb. 13 – Feb. 20

A Greenport woman reported to police on Feb 15 that while shopping at Mr. Roberts in Greenport, someone entered her unlocked car and stole a wallet and cell phone. Police checked the area for a possible suspect but found no one.

A Greenport man contacted Southold police when he was unable to find his cell phone on Feb. 17. He stated that he believed an acquaintance took it along with $60. He did not press charges, but wanted the incident documented.

On Feb. 20 a Mattituck man called police when his mailbox, valued at $20, was vandalized. Police interviewed a suspect, but no further action was reported.

A Calverton man was arrested for drunk driving and speeding on Rt. 48 in Peconic on Feb. 20 at 9:15 a.m., Southold police said. Adam Chrzanowski, 36, was observed exceeding the speed limit and failing to maintain his lane of travel. When stopped, police determined that he was intoxicated, according to the police report. Chrzanowski was placed under arrest and transported to Southold police headquarters to be processed and held for arraignment, police said.
