Greenport High School Drama Club presents the Lawrence Olivier Award-winning “Once on This Island” from the songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of a Caribbean island and the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death. Imagine “The Little Mermaid” with a Greek-myth ending, Caribbean flair and a message on acceptance and tolerance.

The show is directed by Laura Nitti, who has also directed shows for the Riverhead Faculty Community Theater and Riverhead Middle School.

Show dates are Friday, March 3rd and Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at Floyd Memorial Library, the HS Office or can reserved by emailing dramaclub@gufsd.org
