Excerpts from the Southold Town Police Press Reports, March 5 – 15, 2017

A Southold woman reported that she was the victim of identity theft when she noticed $2,195 worth of merchandise had been charged to her Lord & Taylor credit card on Feb. 23. She notified Lord & Taylor and Southold police gave her an identity theft form to fill out.

On March 6 a Mattituck woman reported to Southold police that she had received a threatening letter in the mail from an unknown person. Police advised her to contact headquarters if she received any more letters.

An employee at CVS Drugstore in Mattituck reported to police that on March 9 a customer attempted to steal a bottle of Tylenol. The employee confronted her outside the store and the customer returned to pay for the item.

On March 12 a Greenport woman reported that her tires had been slashed outside her Adams Street residence. While investigating the incident police found another slashed tire at a nearby location. Police are investigating.

Angel Colon, 46, of Greenport was arrested on March 15 after he was observed driving through the Greenport School zone while using his cell phone. After being stopped he was found to be driving with a suspended license. Colon was transported to Southold Town Police Headquarters for processing.
