Family Service League to host suicide prevention training

The “Suicide Alertness Seminar,” also known as SafeTALK, will take place April 20 from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Peconic Lane Community Center in Peconic. The program is dedicated to teaching the community how to help with suicide prevention, and become “suicide alert.”

SafeTALK will be hosted by Family Service League, and will use the TALK method to teach participants about suicide prevention.

The event is free, but those who wish to participate must be over the age of 15 and reserve their spot by April 15 due to the 30-person maximum. To reserve a spot call 973-747-8053 or email cmckelvey@fsl-li.org.
