A Southold man was arrested yesterday in connection with two reported burglaries that occurred along Main Road in Southold over the past few weeks, police said in a press release.
Colin Volinski, 28, was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, police said.
With the assistance of the Suffolk County Probation Department, Southold detectives recovered two stolen shotguns and a number of stolen tools from Volinski’s Main Road, Southold residence. The guns had reportedly been removed from a barn during the overnight hours of April 9. The tools were associated with a burglary that was reported on March 20, police said.
Police also seized a black powder muzzle loader which Volinski was prohibited from possessing due to a prior criminal conviction.
Volinski was held for arraignment in Southold Justice Court.
