East End Arts will honor three longtime supporters at the ARTworks 2017 Spring Gala: Sen. Ken LaValle, the Rev. Maryanne McElroy and Peconic Landing. The event is planned for Saturday, May 6, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead.
The honorees have all been staunch supporters of East End Arts, the organization said in a press release.
LaValle, who represents the five East End towns in the N.Y. State Senate, has been a longtime champion of East End Arts. McElroy has served as artistic director for East End Arts Harvest Gospel Concert for over 30 years. She is a music shop proprietor, piano and voice teacher and choir director of the Friendship Baptist Church. Peconic Landing has had a longtime partnership with East End Arts, including the installation of a sculpture garden on Peconic Landing grounds, ongoing community cultural arts programs and collaboration on the award-winning Music by the Bedside program.
The gala evening — proceeds of which support the future of the arts on the East End — will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing with the Trevor Davison Orchestra and live and silent auctions with Allan Newman.
Funds raised at ARTworks 2017 will support East End Arts’ mission to build and enrich the community through the arts by way of education, support, advocacy, and inspiration.
Tickets start at $225 per person, and the deadline to reserve is Sunday, April 30. Seating is limited and past years’ events have sold out.
