What Are the Bees Telling Us?

Join Group For The East End at Downs Farm Preserve as we watch Queen of the Sun, by award-winning filmmaker Taggart Siegel.

Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves a dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers.

Refreshments will be available. For reservations or more information, please contact Jessica Kennelly at 631-765-6450 ext. 215 or email her by clicking here.

Full Flower Moon hikes, May 10

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Native Americans named this moon because flowers are abundant everywhere during this time of year. Other names include the Full Corn Planting Moon or the Milk Moon.

Join one of Group For The East End’s naturalists for one of the two free beautiful, crisp moonlit walks through the trails of Downs Farm Preserve. Discover the sights and sounds of the world at night. Participants may bring a flashlight/headlamp.

The walks take place on May 10. The first session is geared toward families with younger children. It runs from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. A later walk is scheduled for adults from 8:45 to 9:30 p.m.
