Orient Association schedules annual meeting, May 20

The Orient Association Board invites the community to the annual meeting on May 20 at 10 a.m. in Poquatuck Hall in Orient. A welcome and networking session will begin at 9:30 a.m. with refreshments served.

The board plans to inform the community about

  • what has happened in Orient
  • what we expect will be happening in the coming year
  • the status of The Orient Plan
  • committee work on specific issues planned forums
  • member feedback

There will also be a presentation titled Protecting Our Shorelines: Beaches, Bulkheads and Docks — The Role of the Town Trustees and Other Organizations in Managing Our Shared Waterfront Resources.

The business of the meeting will take place during the election of officers for the coming year. A nominating committee is preparing a proposed slate of candidates, but every member in good standing is eligible to be nominated and to run on the day of the meeting. Membership information – If you are already a member, please renew your membership by sending in your dues of $15 per person to the Orient Association, P.O. Box 282, Orient, New York 11957 (Note the slight increase approved at the last annual meeting.) If you are not a member, please join by sending us your name, address, email address and dues to the above address. All residents of Orient and individuals who own property or a business in Orient are eligible to join.
