Center Moriches defeated Mattituck 3-0 yesterday at Mattituck High School.

It was a tightly pitched game for both sides, as Mattituck sent Bryce Grathwohl to the hill to pitch against the Center Moriches ace, Liam Pulsipher, son of former major league pitcher Bill Pulsipher. It went scoreless for a few innings as Grathwohl and Pulsipher dueled to keep the zeroes on the scoreboard. Center Moriches’ David Falco launched a home run over the left-field wall to make it 1-0. Mattituck managed to get a few hits, and had runners in scoring position, but Pulsipher got himself out of the jams. Center Moriches got two more runs to make it 3-0, where the score remained. Mattituck managed only three hits the entire game.

Mattituck’s next home game is Tuesday, May 9, at 4:30 pm against Mercy.
