Southold was handed their first loss of the season by Pierson/Bridgehampton in game two of the Suffolk Class C Championship, 4-1.
The game was tied at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Whalers scored three runs against the Settlers that would go unanswered in the seventh.
Southold (21-1) will host Pierson/Bridgehampton (17-5) on Thursday for Game 3 at 4 p.m.
