Cops: Two men arrested on DWI charges Friday night

A Southold man driving drunk was arrested after two crashes on Front Street in Greenport, town police announced in a press release this morning.

Southold Police said Bryan Burke, 30, crashed into another car on the corner of Front and Main streets and then crashed into a tree in front of Mitchell Park at about 10:30 last night.

Police determined Burke was intoxicated and arrested him on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to the report.

Burke suffered minor injuries and was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital where he was treated and released, then transported to police headquarters for processing, police said. Burke was held for arraignment.

In a separate incident, a Greenport man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge in Cutchogue last night, after a motorist called police to report a vehicle weaving in and out of lane on Main Road.

Police said the caller reported a 2000 Jeep was failing to stay in its lane of travel on Main Road in Cutchogue. Responding officers located the vehicle and determined its operator, Carlos Osorio, 50, was intoxicated, according to a police report. He failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and held for arraignment, police said.

Osorio was also charged with unlicensed operation, police said.
