The Mattituck Tuckers took down the Wheatley Wildcats and claimed the Class B Long Island Championship today with a no-hitter thrown by Brendan Kent.
First baseman James McDonald provided the Tuckers with their only run during the shutout Thursday night at St. Joseph’s College, hitting an RBI triple in the second inning. The game would remain tense throughout the next five innings, with the Tuckers only getting on base a total of four times before it ended, 1-0.
