Marian Jackewicz Klodaski of Calverton died June 1, 2017 at the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation. She was 88 years old.
She was born January 17, 1929 in Hallockville to Blazej and Stefania Jackewicz.
She was a graduate of Riverhead High School and worked as the secretary to the superintendent of the district for 40 years.
She was a parishioner at St. Isidore R.C. Church and a member of its choir, a member of the St. Isidore Rosary Altar Society and served on the parish council as well. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling — having gone cross-country twice and visited many countries including Germany, Italy, Austria, France and Poland. She was honored to have shaken hands with Pope John Paul II.
Predeceased by her husband Frank in 2007 and all her siblings, she is survived by her son Frank Jr., of Calverton, her daughter Susan Herzog (Richard Sell) of Baiting Hollow, one grandchild, Geoffrey (Addie) and one great-grandchild, Keegan.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church with interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
