Cutchogue Fire Department announces funeral arrangements for Jason Cooper

The Cutchogue Fire Department has announced funeral arrangements for New Suffolk resident Jason Cooper, who died June 7 in an accident at his family’s home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Defriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Firematic services will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. 

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at Mattituck Presbyterian Church in Mattituck with fire department and military honors. Interment will follow at the Cutchogue Cemetery.

Cooper, a 16-year veteran of the Cutchogue Fire Department, was a member of the New Suffolk School Board and the New York Air National Guard. He currently served as the lieutenant of the the CFD water rescue team.

Cooper leaves behind a wife and three children.
