Tessie Doroski Karpinski of Riverhead died June 12, 2017 at the Peconic Bay Medical Center Palliative Care Center. She was 95 years old.
She was born in Middle Island on September 23, 1921 and spent her early years in Cutchogue and Calverton before marrying Joseph Karpinski of Riverhead on May 21, 1950.
She resided in Riverhead for 67 years and was a parishioner at St. Isidore R.C. Church. She had been involved with farming her entire life. In her spare time she enjoyed baking cookies and pies for her family and taking family photos. She relaxed by doing all sorts of puzzles.
Predeceased by husband Joseph and her siblings Stella Wisniewski, Louise Terrone, Anna Mandrona, Bertha Isder, Stanley Doroski and Alyce Chico, she is survived by her children Beatrice Gallo (Fred) and John Karpinski, her grandsons Fred Gallo (Loretta) and David Gallo (Catherine) and great-grandchildren David, Benjamin, Joshua and Hannah. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for June 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church with interment to follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery.
