A four-car, chain-reaction crash on Main Road in Cutchogue sent one person to the hospital this morning.

Cutchogue Fire Department and the Southold Police Department were called to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Main Road and Skunk Lane at around 9:15 a.m.

A pickup truck was westbound on Main Road and waiting to make a left turn onto Skunk Lane, according to Lt. James Ginas of the Southold Police Department. A maroon Chrysler had stopped behind it when a Porsche Cayenne SUV struck the Chrysler, which in turn collided with the pickup truck, according to police. A fourth vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup, then hit the Porsche, police said.

There were no serious injuries, Ginas said, though an occupant of the Chrysler was taken to the hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Police diverted traffic around the accident and the scene was cleared within a half hour.
