Margaret Leschuck of Mattituck died July 3, 2019 in Winter Park, Florida. She was 92 years old.
She was born in Brooklyn. In 1959 she and her husband Peter began summering in Mattituck until 1984 when they moved to Mattituck permanently.
She was a homemaker and proud matriarch of the family, family members said. In her spare time, she enjoyed sunbathing and swam in Long Island Sound well into her 80s.
Predeceased by her husband Peter in 1986, she is survived by Diane Lebruto of Lake Mary, Florida, Ileana Kmech (Sean) of River Edge, New Jersey, her grandchildren Elizabeth Yost (Matthew) of Orlando, Florida, Tamara Kmech of River Edge, New Jersey and Jonathan Lebruto (Norah) of Silver Spring, Maryland, and three great-grandchildren, Grace Lillian and Emme Alexandra Lebruto, of Silver Spring, Maryland and Julia Mae Yost, of Orlando, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at the Transfiguration of Christ Orthodox Church in Mattituck. The Rev. Constantinos Makrinos will officiate. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery.
