Gary D. Smith, of Hampton Bays, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Center Moriches. He was 74 years old.
He was born on July 17, 1942, in Rochester, New York to Huron Smith and Margaret Zorn.
He had a master’s degree and was a teacher for Commack School District. He was a dedicated coach for soccer, basketball and softball, for East Islip, Sayville, Commack, St. Joseph’s College and Suffolk County Community College.
He is survived by his loving wife Paula Smith (nee Probeck), beloved children Neal and Brian Smith, Pam Johnson and dear sister and brother–in–law Paula and Fran Larrivee. He was a devoted grandfather of four
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m., at Riverhead United Methodist Church, 204 E. Main St., Riverhead.
