Kate Elizabeth Crump Trent of Riverhead died July 12, 2017. She was 85 years old.
She was born on April 7, 1932 to McKinley and Mary Rose Crump.
After moving to Long Island from her birthplace in Virginia, she served as an usher at Unity Baptist Church in Mattituck for 26 years and then as an usher at Living Water Full Gospel Church. She worked at the Riverhead and Eastport duck processing plants for 26 years and as a home health care giver for 20 years and enjoyed caring and praying for those in nursing homes and hospitals.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband Moses, her eldest son Moses Jr. and two granddaughters, Monique and Morgan Trent, she is survived by her sons William (Mary Ann), Jerome and Dwayne (Wanda), her brother McKinley (Jo Ann), five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home and Wednesday, July 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Living Water Full Gospel Church. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 19 at the church. Interment will be in Cumberland, Virginia.
