Norman L. “Deke” Waterhouse died on July 22, 2017 at his home in Southold. He was 68 years old.
He was a longtime resident of Southold and was a dispatcher for the Southold Fire Department for many years. He was employed by Goldsmith’s Boat Shop and Marina, Port of Egypt and finished his career at Albertson’s Marina in Southold. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Predeceased by his parents Mabel and Roger Waterhouse, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley, his two children, Dawn Vogel and John Waterhouse, his son-in-law, David Vogel, his grandchildren, David Jr. and Madison Nicole, his brother, Chet of Delaware and his sister, Beverly Pilgreen of Louisiana.
The family received friends on Tuesday, July 25 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery at a later date.
