The Mattituck Yacht Club has announced the formation of two new racing teams. The teams will compete in the Peconic Gardiners Junior Sailing Association series this summer. The teams will sail in the Club 420 class and the Optimist (Opti) International class.

The yacht club’s sailors range in age from 5 to 18 years old. According to the club’s website, sailors skipper different types of crafts based on their seamanship skills. Younger sailors compete in the Opti and more experienced sailors race the 420 series.
