Cops: Man charged with DWI after leading police on seven-mile chase

Police charged a Huntington man with DWI after he fled from a traffic stop and led police on a seven-mile chase that ended in Riverhead Town Monday morning.

Roger W. Fay Jr., 45, was found to be intoxicated and arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, police said. He was held for arraignment.

On Sunday, police charged Jose Gomez Lopez, 27, of Riverhead, with misdemeanor DWI and unlicensed operation after he was observed failing to maintain his lane while traveling eastbound on Route 25 in Peconic. He was held for arraignment, police said.
