A two-car crash on County Road 48 in Mattituck yesterday sent two people to the hospital
Jean C. Jacques, 58, of Brentwood and Anne M. Taffel, 65 of Bayport, were both westbound on Country Road 48 at about 3:40 p.m., when Taffel, who was in the right lane turned left towards Wickham Avenue, crossing the left lane of travel where Jacques was driving and colliding with his car, Southold Town Police said. The impact causes Jacques’ vehicle to overturn.
Both drivers were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
