Help the North Fork Animal Welfare League ‘Clear the Shelters’

The North Fork Animal Welfare League announced that it will join with NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU to host NBC Universal Owned Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters third annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 19.

Throughout the month of August, both the Riverhead and Southold Animal Shelters will offer waived pet adoption fees as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. In addition to the North Fork Animal Welfare League’s waived pet adoption fees through the month of August, VIP Petcare will be donating over $200 worth of preventative care services to all pet parents adopting on August 19th. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in more than 70,000 pet adoptions nationwide.

The Southold Animal Shelter is located at 165 Peconic Lane, Peconic and the Riverhead Animal Shelter is located at 532 Youngs Ave, Calverton.

The Clear the Shelter event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both locations.
