The North Fork Audubon Society is hosting a free talk on the topic of global warming and climate change. Led by Mark Haubner, the discussion will highlight issues in plain language and clarify any confusion on the topic.
Haubner has studied climate change for over a decade and pulls out the essence of sea level rise, ocean acidification, loss of species and habitat and more, according to the sponsor. Haubner will also teach attendees how they can make a difference with just a few small commitments in their lives to improve things locally.
The lecture will be held on August 11 at 7 p.m. at the Peconic Lane Community Center, 1170 Peconic Lane, Peconic.
