Lucy B. Sendlewski of Media, Pennsylvania, formerly of Riverhead, died Aug. 11, 2017 at Taylor Hospice. She was 89 years old.
Born Aug. 20, 1927 in Monki, Poland, she was the daughter of Boleslaw and Sophie Kruk.
Sendlewski worked for Bell Telephone until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Aston, Pennsylvania, a former member of the St. Isidore Altar Rosary Society and the Polish Town Civic Association. She was an avid golfer and a member of the ladies golf league at the Springfield Country Club.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas, her brothers Anthony and Richard Kruk and sister Anna Kowalski, she is survived by her son Thomas (Susan), of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, and daughters Carol Blessington of Media Pennsylvania and Barbara (Frank) Cresta of Easton, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Daniel, Phillip and Frank Cresta; Samantha Banyar; and Sean, Scott and Kathryn Blessington; and by two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Aug.16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore’s Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
