The Olive Branch Café, Greenport’s newest eatery, opened its doors Monday on Front Street.

Located in the courtyard across from Mitchell Park, the restaurant occupies three storefronts, serving up Turkish-Mediterranean food, coffees and wine.

For owners Michelle and Yusuf Alptekin, it has been a labor of love with Yusuf doing much of the work on the restaurant himself. See previous story.

The Olive Branch offers a full service dining room, a casual cafe and an outdoor seating area. Their menu includes traditional fare such as yogurt soup, shish kebab and musakka along with hot and cold appetizers, omelettes and sandwiches.

The Alptekins hope to feature live violin or flute music in the outdoor courtyard.

The Olive Branch is located at 120 Front Street and will be open year-round, seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
