Due to the hot and humid weather, many opted for take-out, while others enjoyed their dinners under the shade trees behind the firehouse.
Dozens of volunteers were on hand to man the grills, cook corn and baked potatoes, serve drinks and pack up to-go orders.
Senator Ken LaValle stopped by to chat with diners and volunteers, posing for photos and shaking hands.
