The Animal Rescue Center of the Hamptons is sponsoring an adoption event on September 9 at Tanger Outlet Center in front of Office Max in Riverhead. The event takes place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Mixed breeds, purebreds, kittens and puppies will be available. All ARF animals are spayed and neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to their age limit. If you already have a dog, please bring it for a meet and greet.
According to its website, ARF is currently working with animal rescue facilities in Texas and will be returning to Long Island with 60 to 70 animals. The animals are being transferred from already crowded animal shelters to make room for those rescued from the floods. The transferred animals will be moved into shelters here on the East End. and once they are deemed healthy, they too will be available for adoption from ARF, Southampton Animal Shelter and Kent Animal Shelter.
