The Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association will hold an informational meeting on September 18 regarding the proposed development of the wooded lot at the intersection of Main Road and New Suffolk Avenue in Mattituck.

Brinkmann’s, a hardware retailer with stores in Sayville, Blue Point, Holbrook and Miller Place, has proposed constructing two buildings totaling 20,000 square feet on the 1.75 acre lot.

John Carter, MCLA president, said that the meeting will be to inform and educate the community about the proposed development of the lot.

“Brinkmann representatives contacted MLCA because they wanted to share their proposal with the community,” said Carter. “They understand that the civic association, as part of its mission, is to provide a place where community members can learn about local topics and express their interests and concerns.”

The meeting will begin with a presentation by Brinkmann representatives and a question and answer session facilitated by former MLCA president Mary Eisenstein will follow, he said.

The meeting will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Social Room of the Mattituck Presbyterian Church, located at 12605 Main Road, Mattituck.
