Southold Town Police have charged a wrong-way driver on County Road 48 with DWI.
Police said Michael Curio, 59, of Highland Mills, N.Y. was observed traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the divided highway in Mattituck just before 11:30 last night.
Curio was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was transported to headquarters, processed and held for morning arraignment, according to the police report.
