The Porters fell to the Monarchs under the lights at McGann-Mercy High School last night in Riverhead.
Monarchs quarterback Ryan Razzano connected for three touchdown passes, including one to wide receiver John Urrico, who made a spectacular catch in the second quarter.
The Monarchs did all their scoring in the first half, building a 30-6 lead over the Porters by halftime.
The second half was not much easier for the Porters, who scored only one more touchdown and ran in the two-point conversion, to make the score 30-14, where it would stay.
Mercy is a new team in 2017, off to a 2-0 start following a dismal season last year. The Monarchs travel to Mt. Sinai next Saturday afternoon.
The Porters (0-2) look for their first win of the season when they take the home field for the first time next Saturday against Southampton/Pierson. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
