It was homecoming night in Greenport, but the fun ended with the parade up Front Street as the winless Porters fell to Amityville 39-12.
Greenport/Southold/Mattituck (0-6) was overpowered by Amityville (2-4) from the start. The Porters were unable to put any points on the board until near the end of the first half, when Amityville held a 39-0 lead.
The Porters have two more opportunities to notch a win this season: next week on the road at Wyandanch and at home for the season finale on Oct. 27 against Mount Sinai.
