David Kloepfer of Southold died Oct. 20, 2017 at his home. He was 97 years old.
He was born May 14, 1940 in Brooklyn to Henry and Madeline Kidepfer.
After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Army for four years. He worked as a Railway Express agent in Brooklyn for 25 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed Columbia University athletics — especially football — and sports in general. He was a parishioner of North Fork United Methodist Church.
Predeceased by his wife Catherine in 1998, he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Norton of Frederick, Maryland and his daughter-in-law Judith Norton of St. Augustine, Florida, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation took place at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home on Oct. 26. A funeral service was held on Oct. 27 at North Fork United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
