Marion L. Gilliam of Riverhead died Nov. 2, 2017 at her home in Riverhead. She was 83 years old.
She was born in Riverhead on Sept. 16, 1934 to German B. Mayo and Mary Fleming.
She earned a bachelor’s degree and was a registered nurse at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
Predeceased by her husband Everett W. Gilliam and her brothers, Harold, Ed and Norman Mayo, she is survived by her son Everett W. Gilliam II and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews from the Mayo and Fleming families.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, 406 E. Main St., Riverhead. A funeral service is scheduled on Friday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Riverhead, the Rev. Charles Coverdale and the Rev. Cynthia Ligon officiating.
