The East Marion Community Association will present an informational meeting on a widespread East End problem. The topic is titled Treacherous Ticks: Deer and Disease.
The meeting will include important updates on deer management and tick-borne diseases. It takes place at the East Marion Fire Department on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.
Dr. Anna-Marie Wellins of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Regional Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center will discuss the tick-borne diseases prevalent on the North Fork and how you can stay safe. Craig Jobes, an environmental analyst for the Town of Southold, will outline the town’s plans for dealing with the overpopulation of deer.
The doors open at 9:30 a.m. for goodies and socializing. The meeting starts at 10 a.m.
The event is free and open to all.
