Cops: Man towing food trailer charged with DWI

A man towing a food trailer was charged with DWI Sunday afternoon.

Police responding to a report of an erratic driver towing a trailer for Noah’s restaurant located the vehicle on Route 25 in Southold Sunday at about 4:20 p.m., according to a Southold Town Police report. Police said they stopped the vehicle for failing to maintain its lane of travel. Its driver failed field sobriety tests and was determined to be intoxicated, police said.

Justin A. Schwartz, 42, of Long Beach was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, transported to police headquarters to be processed and held for arraignment, according to the report.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
