A man driving 99 mph on Route 48 late Sunday night was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Southold, police said.
Police said Charles L. Taylor of Mastic Beach was operating a vehicle eastbound on Route 48 at a speed of 99 mph in a 55-mph zone at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
Taylor was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was arrested and held for arraignment.
