Need help wrapping your Christmas presents? You can get them wrapped and support the nonprofit Community Action Southold Town at the same time at a fundraising Wrap-A Thon set for Saturday, Dec. 9 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Southold Town Recreation Center in Peconic.
Bring your unwrapped presents to the rec center and volunteers will wrap them and get them ready for you to put under your tree. In return, they ask for a small cash donation
All the proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of holiday toys by CAST for families in need.
There will be refreshments available, holiday carolers, a visit from Santa and more.
The Wrap-A-Thon, in its second year, is the brainchild of Donna Fulmano of Mattituck, who organized the event last year when she heard that CAST was in need of gifts for needy kids.
Fulmano is seeking volunteers to help at the Wrap-A-Thon. Even if you can’t wrap gifts, there are other ways to pitch in: a wrapper’s assistant, baker, set-up/clean-up helper.Volunteers are asked to commit to one hour on the day of the event. Email Donna to volunteer.
