The sun was shining in Cutchogue this morning as nearly 200 runners and walkers took to the roadways for the sixth annual Cutchogue Fire Department Stuff the Sleigh 5K and children’s fun run.

Although he didn’t race, Santa Claus was spotted mingling with the runners and there was a Buddy the Elf sighting as well.

Shawn Fitzgerald of Cutchogue came in first with a time of 18:16 and Indira Schwarting of Southold was the first woman over the finish line. All results will be posted later today on the Just Finish website.

The big sleigh parked in the firehouse was full of toys, all of which will be donated to Community Action Southold Town.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Cutchogue Fire Department Scholarship Fund, The Fire Fighters Cancers Support Network and the American Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
